Our Wine List
This list is subject to stock remaining on hand and to duty, exchange and market fluctuations.
The prices shown in this list are VAT inclusive per bottle unless otherwise indicated.
As you can appreciate the stock position and prices are subject to continual change and revision.
If an item is out of stock we substitute with a similar item unless requested not to do so in your order's delivery instructions.
The wines remain the property of The Wine Barrel or its associates until payment is received in full.
Availability of Wines
Inevitably some wines will be out of stock or will become unavailable during the currency of the annual list.
This is especially likely over busy periods. Where the customer specifically specifies the vintage then we will
endeavour to contact you and explain the situation, where appropriate, we will discuss possible alternative Vintages.
If in the absence of customer instructions to the contrary, an appropriate Vintage substitute may be used to complete the order.
Delivery
Local delivery within 10 miles is Free of Charge. Delivery to UK Mainland will incure a cost of £5.99 per case, orders of 12+ bottles are charged at £10.00 per shipment. Delivery to certain parts of Highlands, N.Ireland, Isle of Man are charged at cost.
Orders above the value of £275 are delivered Free of Charge to Mainland UK.
All deliveries are undertaken by APC and AstroAir.
Please Note that due to US regulations as a rule we do NOT ship to the US, however if you have an account with a local merchant who is authorised to receive
shipments from abroad we should be able to help. This however is not guaranteed.
Delivery to the EU, US and other Countries will be at the standard Carrier cost, this will be charged to your card prior to shipment.
You are welcome to make your own delivery arangements to the Countries outside of the UK if you so require.
Acknowledgement of Receipt
Goods must be examined and signed for on delivery, any damage or loss must
be noted and marked on the delivery sheet. Where delivery is by carrier the
risk will pass to the customer upon delivery of goods to the Customer.
Acknowledgement of Receipt – Delivery to The Wine Barrel Ltd
Goods delivered to The Wine Barrel Ltd must be signed for on delivery. The Wine Barrel Ltd will not be liable for
any discrepancies that arise without the provision of the original delivery document. No claims will be
accepted without an original proof of delivery document.
Damaged Goods
Should a wine be damaged in delivery we will gladly offer a replacement or
full refund.
Notification can be by telephone, post, fax, or email within three working
days of delivery.
Faulty Goods
If a wine is found to be corked or faulty we will be happy to offer a
replacement or credit. Notification must be given to us within 3 working
days of delivery.
Incorrect Goods Delivered
On the rare occasions this happens we offer a refund or replacement of the
incorrect goods, on return of the bottle(s) in question. Notification must
be given to us within 3 working days of delivery.
Cancelling Your Order
For your complete peace of mind, you may cancel your order within 7 working
days of receipt of goods. For Special Orders we do reserve the right to charge an admin fee of
£15.00 for all cancellations that are received after the initial 24 hour
period. The goods must be returned by you. Alternatively, we are entitled to
charge the cost of our carrier collecting the goods from you, this would be
deducted from the refund given. Any cancelled order will be refunded within 30 days.
This applies to goods where the seal on the bottle has not been tampered with.
Cancelling Your Order by The Wine Barrel
The Wine Barrel reserves the right to Cancel your order if we feel it is in our interest to do so.
This is also part of the Force Majeure and we will not be liable to any other forms of comitment, if you have
paid for the goods or your card has been charged then a Full Refund will be credited to your Credit Card or a refund Cheque issued.
If the order has been cancelled by Us prior to your payment being received we will either return your Cheque or Void your card payment, this is
to protect our Business and absolve us from any further Liability.
Refunds
We will provide a full refund of any wines that are faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Faulty bottles may be required to be returned to us and we will arrange this as necessary at your convenience.
Please note that the refund might be delayed if we require the return of the wines, we reserve the right to deduct from the refund for damaged or missing bottles.
Refunds can take up to 30 days to appear on your Credit Card. We cannot process the Refund until we have received the wine back in a satisfactory condition.
Liability
In cases where the goods have been despatched via carrier the risk has been
passed to the customer upon the customer taking delivery of the goods, any claim by customer shall be subject to
any limitation or other conditions contained in the terms of carriage, Every
assistance will be afforded by the Company to enable any claim to be made
for damage or loss against the defective damaged or non delivered goods. Any
express or implied condition, statement of warranty, statutory or otherwise
as to quality or correspondence with description or sample of fitness for
any purchase shall be excluded.
Force Majeure
The company shall not be liable for any failure to fulfill any terms of any
transaction governed by these conditions of sale if fulfillment has been
delayed or prevented by circumstances which is not directly within it's
control.
Special Orders
For all special orders the total value of the order is payable before the order can be
processed.
A charge for delivery will be made if the supplier imposes a similar charge
on us.
For special order cancellations received after the initial 24 hours of
placing an order a fee of £15.00 will be charged to cover the required
administrative tasks.
Discounts/Promotions
Regular promotions are displayed on the web site.
Exception to the Discount is given to premium wines, as those wines are in
short supply we regret that we cannot offer any discounts on them.
Payments
You can choose to pay on the site by using one of the accepted Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Switch, Electron, Maestro and Solo), by phoning our
Orders Office on 0845 257 8058 or by post. Credit cards are always debited in UK pounds sterling.
Privacy
We use the most up to date encryption systems available to
ensure your credit card details are sent in a secure format. Internet sales are processed by PROTX.
As an additional security precaution we do not store any credit card
details on our website.
All personal details are kept STRICTLY confidential and are NOT
shared with any other party (including those outside of the EEA).
To allow us to deliver your order efficiently and for your convenience in
reordering we collect the following details from you when you place your
order:
- your name, address and delivery address
- your e-mail address (your order confirmation is sent here) and
telephone number
- whether or not you wish to receive more information from The Wine Barrel.
We may approach a credit reference agency to verify your address.
If you currently receive mailings from us and no longer wish to do so, you
can opt out in three ways:
- on the order payment details page (when placing an order)
- by signing into 'Previous Orders' and amending in the 'Your
Details' .

To assure you of our attention to these issues we are registered with the
Information Comissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998.
