We started The Wine Barrel for variety of reasons, but principally to help wine buyers obtain the best possible wine in its respective price range from all the wine producing countries. We source wines that are not available in the high street supermarkets, and provide the customer with all the necessary help in choosing the right wine for the occasion, be it for everyday drinking or for that special occasion. Our relaxed but professional atmosphere offers unbiased opinion on all the wines that we stock and any other wine that we are asked about.

In putting our list together, we have drawn the absolutely essential criteria that we look for in every wine that we offer:

- They are a true expression of their grape variety and geographical origin.
- They represent good value at their level.
- They are wines we want to drink, not just taste.

In all cases, our wines come from producers whose commitment to quality is both firmly established and widely recongnised. Our intention is that they should form the backbone of our range of wines which is regularly available We hope that they will become firmly established in your affections, and that you will make them central to your regular drinking.

Although we don't have a minimum order quantity we would recommend ordering a minimum of 6 bottles. Some of our wines are priced by the bottle and some by the case. The delivery cost is the same for a single bottle as it is for a case therefore buying by the case is more economical in terms of carriage charges.
